here. >> after dropping this on the u.n. yesterday, he talks to obama and romney today. what israel's line in the sand would mean for all of us. plus, have you seen chelsea lately? >> nobody knows what the hell they're getting into when they're running for president. >> one of my favorites guests is back. >> i'm single, yes. >> if men are watching this -- >> yeah, i'm available. you know, just call me maybe. >> funny, feisty as ever, with a new look for her talk show. this is "piers morgan tonight." >>> good evening. the big story, the great debate. in just five days the event that could change the race for the white house permanently. the clock is ticking and the candidates know it. they meet face-to-face on wednesday. this weekend, both will be locked behind closed doors in practice sparring sessions. romney has listed senator rob portman to prep him while obama is working with senator john kerry. latest polls covered with that 47% remark hurting romney. in the battleground state of pennsylvania today. >> -- make sure america leads in our homes, in our economy and in our military.

, not surprisingly, dismissed those commence -- comments as outrageous and unrealistic. >> shepard: the u.n. secretary general addressed those weapons today. >> yeah. obviously a lot of concern raised last week by leon panetta when he said there is some evidence that some of those chemical weapons stockpiles have been moved. as a result, perhaps, of that information, the u.n. secretary general gave a stark warning today to president assad of syria. listen. >> i once again emphasize the fundamental responsibility of the syrian government to ensure the safety and security of any such stockpiles. the use of such would be outrageous crime with dire consequences. >> although given the lack of action from the u.n. on anything to do with syria, warnings of dire consequences from the secretary general are likely to be taken with a healthy dose of a pinch of salt by the syrians, shep? >> shepard: jonathan, before we wrap things up at the united nations, i had no idea that the united states was ready to start a war with north korea to take over all of asia. who knew? >> those were the claims made tod

skeptically after abbas' speech at the u.n. yesterday which was just terrible, just attack after attack after attack, and no opportunity to really reconcile, but he speaks differently to the world audience, to the u.n. and to folks like me. >> to be fair, i watched netanyahu's speech. he barely mentioned the palestinian peace process. he gave it piecemeal. he was much more focused on ahmadinejad and iran. >> look, the palestinians do not pose an existential threat to israel. i think they should resolve this issue in a two-state solution. iran, one bomb could destroy israel as one of the heads of iran recently said. if one bomb were dropped on israel it would destroy israel forever. israel might retaliate and kill 10 or 20 million muslims but there are 110 million of them. so israel has to put the iranian situation first. that's correct. i think they are actually related in some way. i do think that if the israelis do make it a good peace offer and if they can resolve this with their own security intact, it will help create an international consensus against iran. >> let me bring in dan senor.

, but it's not nearly what most americans think it is. >> and as a matter of fact, while he was at the u.n., he was told that one of his top aides indeed was arrested for making a comment that apparently insultdinsultd -- insulted the supreme leader. he called for a red line saying that diplomacy hasn't done anything to stop it. sanctions not so much. even though they are proving effective. at one point, benjamin netanyahu really drew a red line, his own red line. take a look. >> here are the facts. where should a red line be drawn? a red line should be drawn right here. before -- before iran completes the second stage of nuclear enrichment necessary to make a bomb. >> what is really so fascinating about this is that the iran supreme leader has not yet made the decision whether or not to build any sort of an atomic weapon, but clearly that is what everybody in that region is worried about. are we looking at a targeted military strike, another war, if, in fact, iran does go over that 90% mark that netanyahu is talking about? >> well, i think you're right to say if they were suddenly to anno

, we didn't come to new york. we came to the u.n. general assembly which happens to be in new york. and during the time i'm inside the building or the hotel. i haven't gone anywhere else. it's a good city. it has great people. and there are good people everywhere. >> let me ask you one more. >> but allow me out of respect for you and through your camera to express my gratitude to the people of new york. would you allow me. when we travel down the street to united nations and come back, we see limitations imposeded on pedestrians, so it creates disturbances for people and of course we're never happy to see such disturbances, but, of course, the police and the security forces to whom i'm very grateful worked extremely hard, but the people of new york were very patient. and if we caused any serious disruption and disturbances, i would like to hereby extend my sincerest apologies to them and thank them for their kindness. >> mr. president, plesh to have you on. >> translator: god bless you. may you have good health and success. >> it was as fascinating a conversation as every. mr. pres

think there are certain political overtones. how else -- how else could you trot out our u.n. ambassador to say this was a spontaneous demonstration. >> maybe he thought that at the time. >> five days later? that doesn't pass the smell test. it was either willful ignorance or abysmal intelligence to think that people come to spontaneous demonstrations with heavy mortars and the attack goes on for hours, and there were warnings, as you know, because cnn put out part of chris stevens' diary. things are going south all over the world. look at this morning in iraq. we've got a miserable failure in iraq. it's unraveling. afghanistan, more insider killings, because this president doesn't believe in american exceptionalism and keeps telling people we're leaving. have you ever heard him say victory? finally he said something about syria, but now we're going to give them communications equipment, which does very well against attack airplanes and helicopters and artillery and tanks. >> you're being sarcastic here. you want to give more? >> of course, we need to arm them. the iranians have admitted
